The judges will primarily understand the project through this presentation, so the deck must be self-explanatory even without a live presenter. The project already has a working web application/prototype. PROJECT: Carbon AI is an AI-powered carbon intelligence platform for organizations. The core problem: Companies consume electricity, petrol/fuel and other resources every day, but many organizations—especially smaller businesses—do not have a simple way to translate those operational activities into an understandable carbon footprint. Carbon AI allows a company to enter operational activity data such as: - Electricity consumption - Petrol/fuel consumption - Other relevant operational consumption/activity The platform converts this activity data into estimated carbon emissions, breaks down emissions by source, and gives the organization a clear picture of where its carbon footprint is coming from. The broader vision is to evolve Carbon AI from a static carbon calculator into an intelligent, continuously updated carbon-management system where AI can analyze organizational data, identify major emission sources, recommend reduction opportunities, and eventually react to real-time sensor/IoT data. TECHNICAL CONTEXT: The project is a real web application. Frontend: React + Vite Backend: FastAPI Backend is deployed online using Render. The GitHub repository is: https://github.com/tantantan07/CarbonAI DO NOT INVENT FEATURES THAT ARE NOT PRESENT IN THE CURRENT PRODUCT. Clearly distinguish between: 1. What Carbon AI already does today 2. What we propose to build next CORE NARRATIVE: The presentation must follow this storytelling progression: PROBLEM → WHY IT MATTERS → GAP IN CURRENT APPROACHES → CARBON AI → HOW IT WORKS → WHERE AI FITS → TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE → IMPACT → FUTURE SCALE → CALL TO ACTION The presentation should make the judges think: “Companies cannot reduce what they cannot measure. Carbon AI turns everyday operational data into actionable carbon intelligence.” DESIGN DIRECTION: Create something that looks like a premium climate-tech product presentation, NOT a generic AI-generated PowerPoint. Visual identity: - Warm ivory / off-white background - Deep forest green typography - Emerald green for important data - Sage green secondary surfaces - Very subtle charcoal/black for technical elements - Premium, minimal, sophisticated - Modern climate-tech aesthetic - High information density without visual clutter - Strong typography - Large numbers - Elegant diagrams - Clean data visualizations - Subtle gradients only where appropriate - Generous whitespace Avoid: - Generic stock photos of forests - Random leaves - Cartoon illustrations - Generic AI robot imagery - Excessive green - Corporate template aesthetics - Huge paragraphs - Fake statistics - Made-up customers - Made-up partnerships - Made-up performance numbers - Unsupported claims The deck should feel like a serious startup/product pitch combined with a technically credible engineering presentation. USE VISUAL STORYTELLING. Every slide should communicate one major idea immediately. SLIDE 1 — THE HOOK Title: CARBON AI Subtitle: Decarbonization by Design Supporting line: “Turning everyday operational data into actionable carbon intelligence.” Visual: Use a sophisticated visualization representing an organization’s operations flowing into a carbon intelligence layer and emerging as measurable emissions insights. Make this slide extremely clean and premium. Do NOT overload the title slide. --- SLIDE 2 — THE PROBLEM Title: “Companies create emissions every day. Most cannot see where they come from.” Explain the problem through three concepts: 1. Operational activity is fragmented Electricity, fuel and other operational data exists across different sources. 2. Activity ≠ insight Raw consumption numbers do not immediately tell a company its environmental impact. 3. Measurement alone does not drive reduction Organizations need to understand which sources contribute most and where action should begin. Do NOT invent numerical statistics. STEP 1 — DATA INPUT Organization enters operational consumption/activity. STEP 2 — NORMALIZATION The system processes the submitted values into usable operational data. STEP 3 — EMISSION CALCULATION Consumption/activity is translated into estimated CO₂ emissions using the relevant emission factors/calculation logic. STEP 4 — SOURCE ATTRIBUTION Emissions are categorized by their originating source. STEP 5 — INSIGHT The resulting data is presented in a way that helps the organization understand its footprint. Use a polished horizontal pipeline or layered architecture diagram. This slide should make the judges understand the product without needing a verbal explanation. --- SLIDE 6 — WHERE AI CHANGES THE GAME Title: “Carbon AI is more than a carbon calculator.” Explain the transition: TRADITIONAL APPROACH Input data → Calculate emissions → Generate report CARBON AI VISION Input data → Understand operations → Analyze emissions → Identify hotspots → Recommend actions → Continuously monitor → Improve decisions Explain that AI is intended to become the intelligence layer on top of the organization’s operational carbon data. Future AI capabilities may include: - Detecting major emission sources - Identifying unusual consumption patterns - Prioritizing reduction opportunities - Generating contextual recommendations - Learning from historical operational data - Supporting continuous carbon optimization IMPORTANT: Clearly label these as the platform’s AI/roadmap direction unless they are already implemented. Do NOT sound like: “AI is revolutionizing the world...” Instead sound like: “Carbon AI converts operational activity into measurable carbon intelligence, giving organizations visibility into where emissions originate and where reduction efforts should begin.” FINAL OBJECTIVE: The judges should finish the presentation understanding five things: 1. THE PROBLEM: Organizations generate emissions through everyday operations but often lack simple, actionable visibility into their sources. 2. THE SOLUTION: Carbon AI converts operational consumption data into understandable carbon-emission insights. 3. THE AI VALUE: AI can transform carbon accounting from static calculation into continuous analysis, recommendation and optimization. 4. THE TECHNICAL CREDIBILITY: Carbon AI is backed by a working full-stack web application with a React/Vite frontend and FastAPI backend. 5. THE FUTURE: The platform can evolve toward real-time IoT-driven carbon intelligence and agentic workflows that continuously help organizations reduce emissions. The presentation should feel like a product that could actually become a real climate-tech platform, not a college project. Prioritize: CLARITY + TECHNICAL CREDIBILITY + VISUAL IMPACT + AI RELEVANCE + SCALABILITY.
