Privacy Policy for Presenton Desktop

Effective Date: May 25, 2026
Last Updated: May 25, 2026

Presenton Desktop ("Presenton," "we," "our," or "us") is an AI presentation generator available for desktop devices, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you install and use the Presenton Desktop app.

Presenton Desktop is designed to be local-first. You can generate presentations using your own model provider, your own API keys, or local models running on your device. No Presenton account or login is required to use the desktop app.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not require you to create an account to use Presenton Desktop.

We do not collect your name, email address, password, billing information, or other account information through the desktop app unless you separately contact us for support or use another Presenton service that asks for that information.

We do not collect, upload, or store your presentation files, prompts, uploaded documents, generated slides, exported PPTX files, exported PDFs, templates, API keys, or local model data on Presenton-controlled servers through the desktop app.

2. Local Processing and User Content

Presenton Desktop runs on your device. Your presentation content, uploaded files, generated outputs, templates, and settings are processed and stored locally unless you choose to connect the app to an external service.

When you use a local model, such as a model running through Ollama, LM Studio, or another local runtime, your content can remain on your device, subject to your local configuration.

When you choose an external AI provider, such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, or another compatible provider, the app may send your prompts, uploaded content, generation instructions, and related request data to that provider so it can generate the requested output. That processing is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the provider you choose.

Presenton does not control how third-party AI providers process data that you send to them using your own API keys or accounts.

3. API Keys and Provider Credentials

Presenton Desktop may allow you to enter API keys or provider configuration details for AI models, image generation services, or compatible endpoints.

These keys are used to connect the app to the provider you select. We do not intentionally collect or transmit your API keys to Presenton-controlled servers through the desktop app.

You are responsible for managing your own API keys, provider accounts, usage limits, and provider-side privacy settings.

4. Usage Analytics

Presenton Desktop may use Mixpanel or a similar analytics service to collect limited usage data that helps us understand how the desktop app is used and how we can improve it.

This analytics may include information such as:

We do not use Mixpanel to collect presentation content, uploaded files, generated slides, prompts, API keys, exported documents, or private model outputs.

Analytics data is used to improve product reliability, understand feature adoption, debug issues, prioritize development, and measure overall usage patterns.

5. Disabling Analytics

You can disable anonymous usage analytics in the app settings or through the telemetry configuration made available for your version of Presenton Desktop.

When analytics is disabled, the app will stop sending usage analytics events from that point forward. Some previously collected analytics data may remain in our analytics systems unless you request deletion and we are able to identify the relevant anonymous identifier.

6. Crash Reports and Diagnostics

Presenton Desktop may collect limited diagnostic information if crash reporting or error reporting is enabled. This may include app version, operating system, device platform, error messages, stack traces, and technical logs needed to diagnose bugs.

We do not intentionally include presentation content, uploaded files, prompts, API keys, or generated documents in diagnostic data.

Some app stores or operating systems may independently collect crash reports, installation logs, or device diagnostics under their own privacy policies.

7. Third-Party Services

Depending on how you configure Presenton Desktop, the app may interact with third-party services, including:

These services process data according to their own privacy policies and terms. You should review the policies of any provider you choose to connect to Presenton Desktop.

8. App Stores and Platform Providers

If you download Presenton Desktop from the Apple App Store, Microsoft Store, Snap Store, Flathub, or another distribution platform, that platform may collect information related to your download, installation, device, purchase history, crash reports, region, or app usage according to its own privacy policy.

We do not control data collected directly by app stores, operating systems, or platform providers.

9. How We Use Information

We use limited analytics and diagnostic information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your presentation content, prompts, uploaded files, or generated outputs to train AI models.

10. Data Sharing

We may share limited analytics or diagnostic data with service providers that help us operate and improve Presenton Desktop, such as analytics, hosting, monitoring, or support providers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, regulation, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Presenton, our users, or others.

We do not share your presentation content, uploaded files, prompts, generated outputs, API keys, or templates with third parties unless you configure the app to send them to a third-party provider.

11. Data Retention

Local files and app data remain on your device unless you delete them.

Analytics and diagnostic data may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for product improvement, security, debugging, and operational purposes.

Support communications may be retained as needed to respond to your request and maintain business records.

12. Your Choices

You can choose whether to use local models, self-hosted models, or third-party AI providers.

You can disable anonymous analytics.

You can delete locally stored presentations, templates, exports, settings, and generated files from your device.

You can delete or rotate API keys through your selected provider.

You can contact us to request access, deletion, or correction of information we may have collected about you through support requests or identifiable communications.

13. Children's Privacy

Presenton Desktop is not intended for children under 13 years old or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we process. However, no software, network, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure.

Because Presenton Desktop is local-first, you are also responsible for securing your own device, local files, API keys, model endpoints, and operating system environment.

15. International Data Transfers

If you use third-party AI providers, analytics providers, app stores, or support channels, your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. These providers may process data according to their own infrastructure, policies, and legal obligations.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required by law or platform rules.
